Brake Pads, Discs & Fluid
For your safety our staff are trained and equipped to test brake effectiveness and component condition. With age, brakes become less effective. Poor brake pads and discs can dramatically impair vehicle handling, braking, and tyre wear. We recommend your car is checked at least every 15,000 miles to protect your safety and your pocket. Brake checks can identify a problem before it affects your braking ability and provides an opportunity to optimise the effectiveness of your braking system.
Brake Pads
Brake pads contact your rotors and cause friction to slow and stop your car. Your brake pads apply pressure to the rotor, which is directly connected to each wheel. This pressure creates the friction needed to slow or stop your vehicle. When the rotor slows, so do your wheels.
Brake Discs
If you hear grinding noise when you brake, it could mean your brake pads or discs need replacing. Brake pads include a metal wear indicator that makes a noise when it contacts the brake disc. When your pads are worn to this extent, it is likely you will need to replace the discs too.
Brake Fluid
A low brake fluid level can trigger the brake light to come on…Brake fluid leaks are serious as they provide little to no stopping power while driving. Hard to stop or mushy brake pedal â Low brake fluid can cause that spongy feeling in your brakes while you step on the brake pedal.
